Accra, April 20, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday extended its deepest condolences to the wife, children and family of the late Mr Victor Selormey, Former Deputy Minister of Finance in the NDC government.
A statement Mr Bede A. Ziedeng, Acting General Secretary of NDC, signed said at the time of his incarceration at the Nsawam Prison, Mr Selormey was known to be suffering from some serious ailment. It said while in prison his health condition deteriorated and was hospitalised in December last year.
The statement said Mr Selormey, who passed away on Monday, devoted himself to the service of Ghana.
"His colleagues and those he worked with remember him for his hard work and analytical approach to duty."
Mr Selormey was jailed during the early days of the New Patriotic Party Administration for causing financial loss to the State. He was given presidential pardon in commemoration of the 48th anniversary of Ghana's Independence in March this year.
