It is often common that we have individuals who are making impact in our communities and sometimes globally yet unrecognized contribution nationally, today we are looking more insight about a young lady who has dedicated her life for her people as we celebrate international women’s day.
One name that comes to mind when women empowerment is mentioned in Northern region is Fouzia Tua Alhassan. Her entire being is built around empowering women and advocating for the rights and education of the youth. She believes in women empowerment, equal opportunities and young people’s development
This passion has led Miss Fouzia Tua to work with Non-Governmental Originations (NGOs) that seek to empower and improve the livelihood of women and the youth. Her advocacy work has also seen her work with communities to educate people on the importance of Sexual Reproductive Health and Right.
Through her active involvement in advocacy work, she has participated in national and international conferences and social media campaigns including the 2016 Women Deliver Conference in Denmark which seeks to promote women and youth empowerment, gender equality and putting an end to Sexual Gender Based Violence.
She is also a member of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Ghana which is an international membership organization for young active citizens aged 18-40 years. She was honored the 2015 Most Outstanding New member in JCI Ghana out of her volunteerism and passion for creating positive change in the world. She was the first female from JCI Tamale Premier to be appointed to serve on the 2016 National Board of JCI Ghana as the National Projects Director. She is currently the Vice President of JCI Tamale Premier.
Miss Fouzia Tua graduated from the University for Development Studies with a B.A in Management and Administration. She is currently pursuing her Second Degree in Public Administration with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is currently a Project Manager at Savannah Signatures.
