Stratcomm Africa has recognized some participants for their outstanding records in garden keeping and horticulture sector.

The awardees include Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra Ridge Church, Madam Lamle Lamtey , Ashesi University, Akai House, Enterplast Limited, Eyes Garden won the best hotel garden, best church garden, the best private home garden, the best school garden, best hospital garden, best industry garden and the most attractive exhibitor respectively.

Speaking at the awards event to climax the last day of the 2016 Ghana Garden and Flower Show (GGFS), the Chairman of the event, Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), said, Stratcomm Africa is awarding participants who have shown exemplary works in gardening and flower cultivation and to also celebrate gardening achievements in Ghana.

She added that the Ghana Garden and Flower Show’s initiative which celebrates Ghana’s flora and fauna is expected to lead to income generation and job creating opportunities for Ghanaians not forgetting the promotion of environmental conservation which is relevant in the struggle for a better climate globally.

According to her, some of the challenges of horticulture and floriculture in the country and these include finding adequate support for growers, packaging challenges for exporters of products and the inability to meet the required quality standards by growers of fruits.

Mrs. Trebarh encouraged entities seeking assistance and support in this sector should reach out to her outfit to facilitate their investments and to equally continue to partner the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement and its associates to attain set goals.

Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa, Ms. Esther Cobbah, said, the Ghana Garden indicated that planning and executing the Ghana Garden and Flower Show is always challenging but her outfit believes in the potential of what we have begun.

“For us, the commercial aesthetic health and environmental benefit that we expect from this effort are worthy of all that we put in…..,” she stated.

The fourth massive Ghana Garden and Flower Show got underway at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra with exhibitors exhibiting various products are seeking partnerships with local and international businesses in Ghana.

The fourth edition of the GGFS was held under the theme “Dream it, Discover it, Live it,” with focus on the 5P’s of the UN Sustainable Development Goals-People, Prosperity, Peace and Planet.
