Healthcare delivery for residents of Breman and other areas of Suame Constituency in Kumasi have received a massive boost, following the opening of a new SDA hospital.

The GH¢500,000 worth medical facility was constructed by the MP of Suame, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, through his common and HIPC funds.

The SDA Church also furnished the hospital with medical equipment and health personnel to manage and provide daily medical care to patients who will be visiting the facility for treatment.

Addressing a gathering during the commissioning of the hospital on Monday, Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu said the project started about three decades ago by the KMA, but was abandoned at a point.

The Suame MP revealed that the facility was established because of the value he places on healthcare.

Mr Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu acknowledged that Breman residents abroad also supported the facility with GH¢10,000 during the roofing stage, expressing delight that the hospital would boost healthcare for his people.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, in a speech read on his behalf by Bremanhene, Nana Kutin Sraman II, commended the SDA Church for providing equipment and medical personnel to manage the facility.

Dr James Antwi, Director, Ghana Adventists Health Services (GAHS), admonished the nurses and medical doctors who would manage the facility to show compassion and respect to patients who will be coming there to seek medical care.

Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr Alexis Nang-Beifubah, charged the public to partner the government to provide medical facilities for the populace, stressing that healthcare delivery should be a shared responsibility.

Peter Yeboah of the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), on his part, assured that his outfit would provide the necessary logistics and human resource support to make the SDA Hospital-Breman one of a kind.
