The chief and people of Sefwi Kogina in the Western region have aided a 28-year-old farmer in the area, Kwabena Affum to perform the required rituals to marry a sheep after he was caught having sex with the animal in its pen in the community last Wednesday.
Reports said that the owner of the sheep, one Ama Mintaa, caught the farmer in the act and reported him to the chief in the town.
A resident, Charles Eric Asiedu Yamoah told DAILY GUIDE that the suspect was summoned before the chief and was later asked to buy some items to enable the people perform some rites to also cleanse the land.
He alleged that in the evening on that fateful Wednesday, the owner of the sheep was awoken by the bleating of one of the sheep in a pen which compelled her to start a search.
“As the woman approached the pen with a flash light, she saw a pair of sandals at the entrance of the pen. She became more curious and when she entered the pen she saw Affum having sex with the animal.”
Mr. Yamoah indicated that the following day, the owner of the sheep reported the case to the chief who subsequently summoned the suspect to appear before the elders of the town.
“When he appeared before the chief and elders, Affum was reprimanded for indulging in the abominable act before he was asked to present the items for the rituals.
According to him, the suspect was asked to provide bottles of schnapps, crate of soft drinks and an amount of money for the performance of the rites.
He pointed out that Affum was also ordered to take care of the animal.
