President Mahama Misfires On Revolution

President Mahama has bragged about the NDC'S revolutionary origins. He was addressing NDC members on what he termed the NPP'S recent "violent posture". He stated that "NDC was born out of revolution and therefore not a party of cowards". Ebei, Mr. President.

Perhaps, it was the setting--- of party foot-soldiers, clad in party colours and looking for partisan red meat that led the normally congenial President astray. After all, it was in similar settings that Rawlings insulted Fantis and Kufuor referred to his predecessor as "Sasabonsam".

The democratic dispensation we are enjoying came because Ghanaians turned our backs on revolutions. I do not know which revolution the President proudly references-- the one that imposed the curfew? the one that killed the judges? the one that shit-bombed media houses and murdered journalists?

A President is president of all Ghanaians. He must never make reckless talk by an opposition leader his standard. A President trying to sound like an opposition leader will soon become an opposition leader.
