Misconceptions And Untruth About President Mahama Using Only Three Months To Win The 2012 Elections
23.12.2015 LISTEN

Very often a lot of NDC communicators and their specialised propaganda teams have been quick to point out to anyone who says president Mahama is going to lose the 2016 elections that it is not possible. They always say their work is not that much and that they need just some few months to market the special communicator and win the election.

They always say that a lot was said against them in 2012 but they still won it one touch, in fact, using only three months. They again add that Nana Addo has been in the seen since 2008 but Ghanaians have always rejected him and will again reject him come 2016. These lines of arguments from the NDC are however very myopic, unfortunate and deceptive.

To start with, it is untrue that president Mahama used only three months to win the 2012 elections. In fact, the campaign for Mahama to be president of Ghana started as far back as 2008. In the 2008 elections for example, the NDC has three campaign teams, one led by late president Mills, another led by former president Rawlings and a third led by the then running mate, John Mahama.

In the three northern regions, the NDC didn't only campaign for Mills but also promised the people that if Mills win the election and finishes his tenure, John Mahama will take over from him. The NDC won the elections and when president Mills passed away, the already marketed John Mahama took over from him and eventually won the 2012 elections.

Again in the NDC Presidential primaries in 2011, the then vice president Mahama was very active in the campaign to retain president Mills and here also, the NDC delegates from the three Northern regions were reminded of John Mahama's presidency after president Mills tenure and they didn't disappoint the NDC.

In essence, the NDC as a political party has marketed President Mahama's Presidential bid since 2008 and as such very ironic and deceptive when they turn around to make it seem as if president Mahama only started his campaign for the 2012 election in September 2012. We cannot also forget of the nationwide "THANK YOU TOUR" organised after the death of president Mills which was also used by the NDC to garner sympathy votes and market president Mahama ahead of the 2012 election.

The NDC are fully aware of these facts but in their continuous propagandist attempt to malign, distort and defame Nana Addo and make him to be seen as an unpopular person, they fail to tell Ghanaians the truth about the brand Mahama which they projected and marketed since 2008.

If however the NDC truly believed they used only three months to win the 2012 elections, why then have president Mahama already started campaigning for the 2016 elections? If again the NDC have achieved so much better than what they achieved in 2012 as stated in their green book, why is vice president Amissah Arthur saying the 2016 elections is going to be a very difficult one for the NDC? Why must vice president Amissah Arthur contradict president Mahama who said the 2016 elections is going to be won one touch? I leave the rest for the NDC, its expetised propagandists and communicators to judge.

I shall In sha Allah be back...
