Spy Ghana Rebrands To Become News Ghana

Ghana’s most popular online news portal, Spy Ghana ( www.spyghana.com ) is now referred to as News Ghana ( www.newsghana.com.gh ).

The rebranded portal which is a subsidiary of the M’Idea Titans Limited, an online media solutions company has been rebranded with exciting features and content, placing it among the top news brands in Ghana.

News Ghana focuses on publishing accurate, factual and relevant news. The strength of the portal lies in the swiftness with which it carries articles while maintaining credibility always. The website in just two months has a staggering 85,000 average daily visits with 250,000 news feed subscribers.

At the event held at New Media Hub in Accra, the special guest for the occasion Mr. Kwesi Gyan Apenteng, a member of the National Media Commission and a Communications Consultant who admitted his love for the defunct Spy Ghana portal conceded that the News Ghana has managed to become his number one online news portal in this short while.

He commended News Ghana’s diligence to publish credible news worthy information. He therefore charged the media to always be factual and shun publishing fictitious articles.

Background And Prospects:
C.E.O of M’Idea Titans, Madam Mushura Don-Baare who started the defunct Spyghana blog explained that evolution, business limitations, the desire to serve clients better and the need to build a stronger, unique and more acceptable brand informed the decision to rebrand Spy Ghana to www.newsghana.com.gh.

She was very excited about the growth of the idea which started as a hobby in 2012. The businesswoman and social worker re-counted the breakthrough which occurred as she was made the focus of a conference due to an article she published.

Infocus PR, the media company who organized the conference was very pleased with her output and insisted on a contribution from her during the conference.

The website now has several partnerships with other local and international organisations such as Google News and Yahoo News. International news agencies like the BBC, CNN, Daily Times (Nigeria), Sun City TV (Nigeria), Aljazeera and New York Times among others had cited Spy Ghana in some of their publications. She was hopeful that News Ghana will achieve higher laurels.
