
Nkoranza (B/A), March 12, GNA - Authorities of the Jackson Education Complex have established a learning centre at Anglican University College of Education, Nkoranza.
Jackson College of Education, which offers a three-year training course for non professional teachers, is affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba, and (UEW) and also accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
Prof Ebenezer Asefua Jackson, the Director of the College, announced this when he paid separate courtesy calls on the Omanhene of Nkoranza, Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV and the Omanhemaa, Nana Yaa Dudaa Kani, in their palaces.
Prof. Jackson said the College since its inception in 2009 had trained 3,500 students in the Region.
He said the establishment of a Centre at Nkoranza would encourage eligible students from other districts like Nkoranza North and Ejura-Sekodumase to have access to the College.
Mr. Godfred Axolu, Nkoranza Municipal Director of Education, commended the Directors of the College for establishing the institution to complement the efforts of the government in producing qualified teachers to enhance education.
Mr. Axolu appealed to authorities of the College to ensure admission of students with qualified grades so as to produce better teachers for the nation.
Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom said he was pleased with the College r establishing the learning Centre to promote teacher education in his traditional area.
