The two health staff who were quarantined after a man died at the Dominase SDA Hospital of symptoms similar to Ebola, have been released after news reached them tests on the blood sample of the deceased proved negative.
The unnamed staff who had primary contacts with the 26-year-old man when he first visited the facility days before, were detained Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
However, Luv News' Erastus Asare Donkor reported the news has come as great relief to the general hospital staff.
The 26-year-old Pusiga man was said to have bled excessively through the anus and his mouth when he was sent to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital in Dominase in the Ashanti r egion but was left unattended to by staff who feared he was suffering from Ebola.
They refused to attend to him because there were no protective gear for them to put on before attending to the patient.
Eventually, the Regional Directorate of the Health Service released some personal protective equipment (PPE) but they came in too late as the patient died.
The Regional Health Directorate planned to hold a workshop for the hospital staff Friday, following the development, Erastus stated.

Between 550,000 and 1.4 million people in West Africa could be infected with the deadly Ebola virus by January 20, 2015, according to a report from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
That's a fairly terrifying estimate. The New York Times reported that the CDC's alarming 1.4 million number is based on the 5,864 cases officially cited by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Reuters also noted that this number "is significantly underreported, and that it is likely that 2.5 times as many cases, or nearly 20,000, have in fact, occurred."
"Extensive, immediate actions — such as those already started — can bring the epidemic to a tipping point to start a rapid decline in cases," the CDC told Reuters.
