
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has inaugurated a new Governing Council for the Meridian University College at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The 12-member council is chaired by Dr Abdul Wahab Bin Adam, Ameer and Missionary In Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Ghana.
An Appeal Court Judge, Alhaji Justice Saeed Kwaku Gyan, sworn in the members at a ceremony held at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission at Osu in Accra.
The Meridian University College was founded by Alhaji Ibrahim B.A. Bonsu, proprietor and managing director of Insaaniyya Company Limited, producers of Mercy Soap and Mercy Cream, in the early part of 2000.
The college received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board (NAB) in 2006 and is affiliated to the University of Cape Coast.
Currently, the college runs courses in management, science, accounting, education-management and education- accounting.
From next academic year, the college envisions to organise additional programmes like Bachelor of Arts Communication Studies, Bachelor of Science – Marketing and Bachelor of Arts in languages-English, French and Arabic.
