Atlanta, GA, USA — (October 21, 2013)– Justina Mutale, African Woman of the Year 2012 and Founder/ CEO of POSITIVE RUNWAY: Global Catwalk to Stop the Spread has urged women Chief Executives to move from simply being good to being great at what they do.

Ms Mutale was speaking in her capacity as Honorary Ambassador for Gender Equality and Spokesperson for the International Women's Think Tank at the Opening Ceremonies of the International Women's Center hosted by the International Women's Think Tank in collaborative partnership with Agnes Scott College on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Agnes Scott College, Atlanta, Georgia in the USA.

In her message titled “From Good to Great: Women as Chief Executives”, Ms. Mutale reminded women executives of the importance of branding, intellectual property rights, patents and trademarks; and fast tracking of skills development and knowledge transfer through top-notch training, leadership development, mentoring and creating networks of movers and shakers through women's organizations like the International Women's Think Tank.

She also spoke about the forces of change at play for CEO's, the role women play to bring diversity and to influence the global agenda; and the focus to promote the social and economic empowerment of women in relation to access to finance, product development and manufacturing.

“To move from good to great as women, we need to reassert ourselves. In addition to unlearning the traditional mindsets and social conditioning, as women leaders we need to empower our fellow women to continuously improve and push the limits that have been placed on our full potential to participate in the political, economic and social spheres and to influence the global agenda”, said Ms Mutale.
