Does Ghana Deserve This???
14.07.2013 LISTEN

Peace be to the people of Ghana
We write concerning the working of Divine righteousness, judgment and justice and God's reign and rule in the affairs of men.

The Martin Amidu-Mills Waterville Saga is an open evidence of Divine reign and rule in the affairs of men. No one can mock God. No one can play games indefinitely with the souls of men, the lives of peoples and destinies of nations, the more so of Divine chosen and blessed nation and people of Ghana. Our God reigns!

Lawyer Martin Amidu has proved himself a good and loyal citizen, a professional hero whose conviction regarding truth, righteousness and duty, good and responsible governance, honesty and trustworthiness in life and society is above PERSONAL GAIN, PARTY LOYALTY, GROUP INTEREST and POWER. In saying this, we do not want to believe that Mr. Martin Amidu has gone this far because his ambition, position, power and personal advantage have been thwarted and taken away from him. That he went to court to seek vengeance and not because of any higher sense of Divine Righteousness, Moral Probity and Loyal Citizenship, nor in the pursuit and defence of Truth, Justice, Accountability, Good Governance and High Public Order.

But be it as it may, the question we are prompted to ask is this: DOES GHANA DESERVE THIS! Does Ghana deserve to be treated this way by the people put in trust to pursue, promote, enhance, advance and defend NATIONAL ASSETS, NATIONAL INTEREST and PUBLIC WEAL, PROGRESS and PROSPERITY of nation and people? Are our leaders not expected to promote, honour and defend peace and righteousness, godly and just conduct, the GOOD and right DESTINY of the nation in the knowledge and fear of God?

To be sure, Ghana does not elect people into power, and confer on them political and legal authority and power, the right to exercise government and state power over national wealth and resources only for the democratically elected people's government to turn round to institute, administer and supervise corrupt, unjustifiable and non-conscionable transfer, robbery and rape of national treasure, resources and wealth into the pockets and hands of individuals, select groups, private vested interests and the coffers of political parties.

There is no secret in this regard that government, the public services and administration of the land are now eroded with and overrun by INSTITUTIONALIZED and SUPERVISED open robbery and transfer of public funds, treasure and wealth into private hands and non-chattered quarters, domestic, foreign and international.

Thanks be to God, the Supreme Court of Ghana has risen to the occasion. This is honourable and worthy of celebration not so much because of the granting of Lawyer Amidu the reliefs sought as in raising up the bar of righteousness, judgement and justice, public morality and probity. The decision also lifts as well as underscores the need for social righteousness and good governance, honest, responsible, accountable and loyal private and public conduct.

The judicial system, the legal profession and professional conduct in private and public affairs as a whole must respond positively to the strong signal given by the Supreme Court of Ghana in the Amidu versus Waterville-Woyome-Government case. God, nations and peoples will be happy and proud over Ghana, if we respond positively and sustain the lessons and new orderly righteous and just judicial system.

Now, let us answer the question, 'Does Ghana deserve to be openly robbed and abandoned by elected and employed servants and professionals?' If one considers the Amidu versus Waterville and Government case one would be tempted to say that the answer to the question is NO. That nation and people of Ghana will not accept government and state supervised rape and plunder of the country, nor improper, careless and irresponsible management of national assets and affairs in general. However, if one considers the truth that every nation deserves the answer will be simply YES. It is the people of Ghana who have ostensibly voted the Atta-Mills government and all into power.

In this respect, though President Atta-Mills came into power with a very small margin of votes leaving the nation generally speaking divided into two equal parts, instead of building bridges, peace, cohesion and unity, the Atta-Mills regime can be said to have ORDERED, PROMOTED AND SUPERVISED OPEN DIVIDE AND RULE, HIGH HANDED PARTISAN POLITICS and GOVERNANCE. We refer here for example to the violent terrorizing type dictatorial government in the President Mills era. Yes, it was another device to re-institute the culture of violence to silence public debate and opposition. Was this to ensure non-censure of unrighteous, unjust, dishonest and immoral conduct in governance?

Indeed, the Atta-Mills regime was marked, with apologies to Former President J. J. Rawlings, with the reign of terror by children with sharp teeth and old evil dwarfs in high places. The Atta-Mills Presidency and its corresponding reign of terror and violent sharply divided system of politics and governance can be said to constitute part of a grand design to exploit and oppress the poor, the needy and all. Yet, strictly speaking, that system of politics and governance is the creation of Former President J. J. Rawlings. Have the chickens come home to roost?

The next issue worthy of consideration in this respect is, have Ghanaians forgotten the national travail and cry unto God for deliverance during Rawlings' reign! Had God responded to the cry and blessed the nation with deliverance, recovery and hope with the coming of and during the Kufuor regime or had He not!

This is a question that church people in particular and believers and people of faith, trust and hope in God in general in the land should and must ponder over and answer, the more so that they are in the majority in the land. On our humble childlike part, we know and can testify as servant of the Most High God that the Atta-Mills government did not have the approval, accreditation, credentials and support of God the Creator. Neither did it benefit from Divine advice, counsel and direction on affairs of the nation. The religious pretensions and hullabaloo during his rule are but a pack of noise and crackle before God the Creator. As servant of God, we did not hide the voice of God and His direction on the matter to church and nation.

The most significant revelation to us in this respect is that because President Atta-Mills had not got the Most High God's approval and accreditation and took Ghana away from his (Atta-Mills') vision and that of his government. Thus, President Atta-Mills DID NOT SEE THE NATION in his spiritual sight and mind and vision to design and order any achievable tangible plan and related policies for the country. We do not need to consider whether he himself had any concrete vision and plan for the country and his governance in the first place.

It must be stated in this regard that the economic growth recorded in the Atta-Mills regime has two major component parts: (i) the Oil Find and its attendant investment build up, capital flows and all (ii) God's faithfulness and commitment to the country and well-being of the people of Ghana, many of whom are worshippers and seekers of Him with ceaseless prayers on life, human and national affairs.

The open acknowledgement of God in Ghana coupled with the religious orientation and mind-set of the people of Ghana has helped to prompt and maintain Divine mercy and goodness on nation and people. Nevertheless, it is true to say that God does not and cannot abandon His will, truth and word as well as His reign and rule of peace and righteousness, judgement and justice, joy, and hope in Him. Nor can He abide with and overlook the mockery of Him and nation.

For this reason, God will always rise up in judgement and defence of His goodness and mercy and above all in remonstrance against evil, unrighteousness and wickedness. In the ultimate, God will not allow Ghana to bleed unceasingly at the hands of unrighteous, unjust, evil minded and wicked people. He will not allow evil and wickedness to prosper and flourish in His chosen nation. Ghana deserves better government, high, sound and loyal professionalism and loyal citizenry.

Private and public business conduct of any and all sources and types must respect the dignity, integrity and sovereignty of the country, seek and defend the need to promote, pursue and adhere to peace, righteousness and justice, high sense of accountability, moral probity and loyalty, progress, prosperity and goodness of country and all the people of Ghana.

There is no gainsaying that we cannot build a stable, strong and prosperous nation, free and happy people, credible governance and social progress when private enterprise and particularly public enterprise have to contend with evil minded, wicked, immoral and disloyal citizens.

Let us pray and work towards the Peace and Unity, Righteousness and Justice, Progress, Prosperity and Goodness of our beloved country, Ghana.

God Bless All.
God Bless Ghana! Amen!!
