Not long ago, I was invited to give a motivational speech in one of the Colleges of Education, formerly Teachers Training College.
I selected the above title because of what you will read from the speech below. As a Motivational and Public Speaker, I have a strong desire for achievement and I believe that this piece will motivate you to achieve more for your country, organization and for yourself.
Enjoy your reading!!
Many of you might have heard a lot of motivational speakers say, you must have big dreams, you must continuously dream, and one day things will work out. Well, they may be right but I am not here to put you to sleep so that you can have more dreams or continue dreaming, I am here to wake you up, and help you make the dreams they have told you to have real, and you ask me how I intend to do that? I will do that by challenging you, I will do that by telling you what leaders do, and I will do that by telling you the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people. If we should continue dreaming every day, it probably means we are still sleeping, then we need to wake up, tell you friend, it is time to wake up. Sleeping people don't take action, that only happens in movies, and we are not acting, we are altering the status quo, we are in action.
Why do some people achieve all their aims and yet others are not able to? Why do others achieve extraordinary results in their fields while others keep on dreaming of having a better life one day?
I am tempted to believe that everyone here wants to succeed, I am saying tempted because I know there are some people who think that to be successful is a sin, so rather than work for their success, they will rather use all the time to be dreaming and probably praying.
I have met many a people who will go like, I want to be successful, but who doesn't want to be successful? There are just too many a people wallowing in perpetual poverty and keep on blaming others for every bad thing that happens to them, I think that is not good enough. What do you think?
If we really want to make a difference in our chosen fields then we have to take responsibility for our actions inactions. By the way have I told you that I know I have determined my entire life up to now by the choices and decisions I have made or have failed to make?. Okay I have told you now.
As I have always told my audience, we are all leaders in our own rights, we are all presidents in our own rights. You have total control over what must happen and must not happen to you on daily basis. If you accept this fact, you will be kept on track, and you will be able to create your own future, the future you soo much desire. I have met many motivational speakers who tell their audience to see theirselves as successful, to tell theirselves that they are successful, I don't have a problem with that, but those are mere wishes, they are fantasies, it is just like you assuming that you leave in a mansion and drive in the latest car in town, yet you know that you leave in a thatch house and board a commercial vehicle every day.
I prefer telling you what you must do to have the mansion and the latest car you soo much desire. I prefer to challenge you to take charge of your life, and keep on moving towards your purpose rather than tell you nice success stories that don't work, I won't tell you to conjure any special magic, I will tell you to do what those who succeed in their chosen fields do, and I will tell you to avoid what unsuccessful people do. Isn't that simple?
Take it from me, in order for you to realize your purpose in the 21st century, you must accept the fact that, you are the president of your own personal service corporation; you are responsible for the consequences of your actions and your behaviors. You are where you are and what you are today because you have decided to be there. You are completely responsible for everything you do and for the results of what you do. As the president of your own career and your own life, and as the chief architect of your own destiny, you are free to make your own decisions. You are in charge, you are the boss.
From this day onwards, resolve to think about your ideal future all the time, stay on track and never give up on your purpose because the very best of results you will get in life, lie ahead. The most joyous moments you will ever experience are yet to come. Believe the future is going to be better, and begin to work towards it. Get a clear mental picture of your life, the greater clarity you have about your future, who you are and what you can do, the greater your chances of realizing your dreams and your ultimate purpose.
May you be motivated enough to wake up and make your dreams come to reality, for that is what the 21st century achievers do.
You too can be an achiever!!!!!!!!
