A massive fire has engulfed the Makola number two market near Agbogbloshie in Accra and destroyed goods worth millions of cedis.
The fire began at about 7:30 pm, according to eyewitnesses
One eyewitness told Graphic.com.gh that Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) trucks which had been dispatched to the scene had difficulty entering the market, causing the fire to spread quickly through the market.
Scores of stores have been razed down by the fire, eliciting tears from several inconsolable traders and shop owners.
Personnel of the GNFS were still scrambling to put out the fire as at the time of publication.
More soon.
