Tamale, March 19, GNA - Mr. Bede Ziedeng, the new Northern Regional Minister, on Tuesday officially took over the administration of the region from Mr. Moses Bukari Mabengba who until the ceremony was the caretaker Minister.
Mr. Ziedeng in a short handing-over ceremony said the Northern Region has great potentials and that with the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) fully operational in the region, there would be a new paradigm shift in development, adding 'if it is not for the welfare of our people, we have no business being in government'.
Mr. Ziedeng commended his predecessor for maintaining peace in the region and assured the people of the area of his readiness to continue from where Mr. Mabengba left off.
Mr. Mabengba described his four-year administration of the region as very successful and added 'I have no regrets …I leave a happy man..my positives outweighs the negatives.'
He said the biggest joy was to leave the region in peace and described Bede Ziedeng as a capable person who is competent and would fulfill the people's dreams. GNA
