OHUM STARTS

The number one festival of the great Akyem populary known as Ohum Starts from Tuesday 28th August, 2012 to 11th September, 2012 which last for two (2) weeks. Its such a great time to experience the customs of our great Akyem Land.

This ceremony of thanksgiving to God is the great festival of the Akyem people known as OHUM FESTIVAL. The Ohum festival is celebrated in Akyem Abuakwa in two parts; the Ohumkan and the Ohumkyire. . It mostly starts the last week in August or first week in September. Also Ohum is celebrated in the first week of April.

This is the time that the period of no noise making is observed during the two weeks if am right. Immediately the Ohum Starts, no one is allowed to play any instruments that would make the environment noisy. So as a patriot native of my noble Akyem land i wish my people a blessed Ohum and that all the Youths should use this Ohum Festival to promote PEACE in their various towns as far as the Dec 12 elections is ahead.

Okyeman Nkwa so, Okyeman the Great, i love the name Okyeman not because i come from the akyem land , But the Moral and spirit in the Akyemnism is what keeps me higher and higher.
