Quaye-Kumah Supports Nungua Clan

HON. DR. Nii Oakley Quaye-Kumah, Deputy Minister Of Roads and Highways, has presented cash and food items to 10 clan houses in Nungua with a call on residents to avoid tribal conflict.

He presented 12 bags of maize, 12 gallons of cooking oil, cartons of meat and an unspecified amount of money, for the celebration of the Kpledzoo festival of the people of Nungua.

Making the donations, Hon. Dr. Quaye-Kumah, urged the people of Nungua to shun acts or tendencies that would bring conflict, especially during the Kpledzoo festival.

'I would like to use this opportunity to humbly plead with our elders to ensure that we all preach peace and unity during this year's celebration of our annual Kpledzoo festival,' he said.

He said infrastructural development brought into the Nungua township has over the years been divided as to whether it must be done for the Amanfra or the Sanshie people, the two traditional gates in Nungua.

'It is only through a united front that Nungua will continue to see the many social and infrastructural developments,' he said.

He also advised the youth in the township not to allow themselves to be used by any politician to cause trouble in any part of Nungua, especially during this election year.

'I would like to remind all that the law is no respecter of persons, and the police are more than ready to deal with anyone found fomenting trouble that would disturb the peace we are enjoying as Ghanaians,' he noted.

He later wished the Gborbu Wolomo, Nuumo Borketey Larweh Tsuru, the chiefs, elders and the people of Nungua a happy and peaceful Kpledzoo festival.
