Kumasi, Aug. 16, GNA- The family of the late Nana Kofi Genfi, a renowned collector of hats, on Friday donated a cheque for 20 million cedis to the Otumfuo Education Fund.
The donation was made on behalf of the late "Hatman", from his estates, in which he set aside the amount to support needy children in society.
Presenting the cheque at the Manhyia palace, Mr Paa Gyimah Genfi, one of the sons, said the gesture was in fulfilment of the late father's desire, even after death to support the needy.
He said the amount was found to have been part of the late Nana Genfi's estates after the final funeral rites.
Oheneba Aduse Poku, the Akyempimhene, who received the cheque on behalf of the fund, thanked the family for honouring the wish of the late Nana Genfi.
He said the generosity of the late Nana Genfi, should be a challenge to his children to emulate their father. Oheneba Aduse Poku, said the fund was very dear to the heart of Asantehene and urged all to contribute to the fund. 16 Aug. 03
