Walking into the new location of the “House ofOvation” last week Thursday September 15, 2011 was a truly exhilaratingexperience, much like walking into a secret garden – you are not surewhat to expect but you are certain you will like what you see.

Patrons of the popular hang-out address in Accra must haveheard that their favorite African Restaurant was relocating to a new addressbut it was only a select few who were invited to the well planned re-opening ofthe House of Ovation and one was really honored to be part of the few.

The new location, at the heart of West Airport (the streetbehind the residence of former President Kuffour) is a prime location thatguests will come to love as they enjoy the serene quietness of the capital. Thenew House of Ovation also boasts of spacious rooms that can host a lot more people.

The tastefully decorated House of Ovation hosted for itsfirst afternoon, a buffet lunch and the guest list was just as impressive asthe menu on offer. They included the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, President of Nigerian professionals in Ghana Otumba Michael Ayayi and Princess Adelaide Ofori.

Others were the host of Good Evening Ghana Paul Adom Otchere, former Ghanaian beauty queen Inna Patty, social commentator Steve Mawuyenga, Wendy Ofori-Attah, , songstress Efya and Mrs. Baaba Banda among others.

The food on offer was first a feast for the eyes even beforeone tasted it. The well laid out buffet included various rice dishes, chickenthat had been prepared in many ways as well as pepper soup that came with softdrinks and varied wines and liquor. There was also Nkowbi (a kind of fufu fromdried yam), Ewedu stew (Ademe) with Afeng (kind of millet banku). It was afeast for kings.

The atmosphere was a mixture of relaxed conversation mixedwith whiffs of sumptuous aromas that rose into the air and gave the restaurantand exotic feel. One was immediately rendered hungry on entry into therestaurant from the smell alone. Suffice to say the meal lived up to everyexpectation.

The House of Ovation is decorated with beautiful paintingsand the comfortable seats with African-designed arm pillows comes with firstrate service at a rather competitive price that beckons one to come back overand again.

After lunch the CEO of House of Ovation, Chief Dele Momodu, revealed the philosophy behind the relocation as the Restaurants desire toremain exclusive and appropriately cater to the security and exclusive needs ofits patrons.

It was revealed also that a new management headed by Ms. Evelyn Nartey, a professional with close to a decade of experience in the hospitality industry in England, has been put in place. The restaurant will be operatingall through the week and also run twenty four (24) hours.
