Ghana striker Junior Agogo is struggling to overcome a thigh injury after returning to Hibernian's infirmary.
The 32-year-old sat out last Saturday's 2-1 reverse against St Mirren.
He has been declared unfit to face Berwick Rangers in the Scottish Communities League Cup.
But he should be fit for the Edinburgh derby this weekend.
Agogo made his debut two weeks ago as a second half substitute in Hibs' 4-1 defeat to Kilmarnock.
He has struggled to active football after a one-year injury-induced absence.
Agogo has 27 international caps and scored 12 goals for Ghana.
