Politicising Everything in Ghana

Politicising Everything in Ghana

Dear Editor,
I would be grateful if you would publish my opinion on some issues in Ghana. It seems some of the political parties in the country focuses more on winning power to make themselves Rich/come to the limelight than Moving the country Forward. Sometimes some of the policies they pursue makes one wonders whether our politicians with all their Education have excuse me to say, 'common sense.'

I read with awe that CURTAINS in the Jubilee/Flagstar house have to be changed because they have Jubilee written in them. I bet that is not the only thing being changed all because the present government did not initiate that project. How much is all this costing when children are still without classrooms, women have babies on hospital floors and some die waiting for their turn to have an operation? Is this not the same as causing Financial Lost to the State? Do our politicians understand the word CONTINUETY?

Now, come to this COLATRALISATION of oil. Isn't it the same as using a Family's fortune as 'ASIWA?'

How many of the population understand the politics going on in the country? Is our politics not concentrated only in the cities among the 'Elite' or those who can read the newspapers? Should the MP's not go to their constituenties, explain everything to the masses, come back to parliament with the feedback before any informed decision can be taken as the OIL is Ghana's Fortune and not a particular party's property?

I bet the elders in the villages would have given them the pros and cons of using a Family's Fortune as 'ASIWA' to help make an informed decision. At the moment it seems only a few are making a decision which will affect the lives of generations to come just to win political points. The contributions one hears some Ghanaians making on the different local radio stations make one realises that the majority do not understand some of the issues in the country's politics. Shouldn't ourpoliticians DIFFERENTIATE between POLITICS and DEVELOPING the country? Someone help me to get answers please!!
