HAS D 2011 WAR IN RS BEGAN?

Jerry Babao!,

Na wao 4 u o! After reading ur text in the current edition of the National Network titled "Bomb Shell: Gov Amaechi To Rivers People - After My Tenure, I'll Run Away", I started to wonder if 2011 is that close to warrant such falsehood and mis-presentation of the Gov's statements. Must we condense to the level of falsehood in order to run down an innocent man who is ready to sacrifice even his life for a better Rivers State? Let us wait a little to start off the 2011 war. To me, it is too early. The Governor has stated in different foras that he is not ready to play politics now, as that will derail him from offering our people the elusive governance that eluded them during the era of Odili/Omehia's period.

Not minding the good works the Governor is doing at the moment but the fact remains that it is the people of Rivers State that will determine if he should come back or not come back so let us wait a little to know from the people of Rivers State if they have any other better material than Amaechi to govern them by 2011and stop all these unwarranted insinuations and distractions. When 2011 comes, men will be drafted to the battlefield as the task of salvaging RS from the shackles of nepotism, slavery, father xmas spirit and looting spree of the past is a war that will be fought and won. No body will be cowed. RS people will be the one to decide at least they now have an option to choose from (Past and present).

To me Amaechi has established himself as an Institution and a force politically in Rivers State that it is no longer his right to determine if he should run or not run for a 2nd tenure. As I said, it is the people of RS that will determine his fate and not him telling us if he should run or not run, he does no have such power with all due respect to him unless he ceases to be a son of RS. Avoiding any form of exaggeration, u can agree with me leaving politics aside that it will be very difficult getting any other person doing most of the risky things Amaechi does to improve the lots of our people. As things stands now, apart from TP, Amaechi has no rival to the throne of RS anytime any day, better draw this sacrosanct fact to the ears of our Abuja friends and brothers.

Let me for avoidance of doubt expose some home grown facts - In RS today, we no longer play the politics of political parties - what we have now is politics of political blocks. Three major political blocks have come to play at the moment - Amaechi/Abe/Dakuku/Princewill Block, Odili/Omehia/Sekibo Block and those neither here or there Block or rather those yet to decide on which of the blocks to join. These blocks represent different things to the RS people. I must sincerely commend and congratulate Odili's block for the maturity exhibited so far in monitoring and exercising caution before attacking. The only disadvantage facing them is that most of our present key actors were members of that Block so we know their tricks and strength and sadly, for them we have developed other tactics unknown to them. Let us wait as 2011 will be very interesting in RS than what is obtainable in any part of Nigeria.

Let us exercise some prudence to avoid early causality before the war starts off.
