The General Manager of Galaxy International School, Tamar Kirca, has commended a number of selected students of the school who participated in some internationally recognised competitions around the world and won awards for the country.
He congratulated the students for applying all the knowledge acquired in the school to outsmart their competitors from US, UK among other countries in the various competitions to make the nation proud. He believes the students' effort has shown that the country's system of education is of international standard and also conforms to international best practices.
The awards were won by Osman Abdallah, Eugene Yaw Agyei, Nelson Ashleigh, Hannah Asman, Prince Derek Osei Spull and Asante Agyei Charis in various keen competitions that took place in Turkey, Bosnia Herzegovina, United States of America and Georgia.
They were made to find solutions to some difficult challenges confronting science and technology in the modern world. This includes a demonstration on how to develop scientific structures that can resist destruction arising from earthquakes.
In an interaction with The Statesman, Tamar Kirca said the competitions were very difficult, considering the level and number of intelligent students who competed with the Ghanaian students but said they managed to sail through successfully through the careful and intelligent teaching skills of their tutors.
He cited the favourable economic environment as a factor in the educational development of the country and wished that the system is continued to help Ghanaian students attain a hundred percent quality education.
Mr Kirca hailed the assistance given to the students by the Ministry of Education in the course of their preparation, and hoped the same assistance will be offered to the school and others when the need arises.
