The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that staff who are yet to receive their 2025 promotion placement arrears will be paid on November 16, 2026.
The Service said it was working with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to ensure that all outstanding payments are processed by the stated date.
In a letter dated October 27, 2026, and addressed to Regional Directors, the GES explained that the delay was due to the closure of the Controller and Accountant-General’s payment system for the processing of end-of-October salaries.
The payment system is expected to reopen on Wednesday, October 28, to allow the necessary inputs to be made for the payment of the outstanding promotion arrears.
The GES also assured staff that discrepancies identified in payments made on October 16 would be rectified.
“Management regrets the delay and the inconvenience caused,” the Service stated in a letter signed by Prof. Smile Dzisi, Deputy Director-General (MS), for the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service.
Regional Directors have been directed to communicate the update to all affected staff.
