Students of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), have reportedly expressed shock following revelations by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) that it spent over GH¢574,000 on LED screens installed on campus.
The expenditure has sparked reactions among students, with many questioning the amount allocated to the project and seeking a clearer understanding of how the funds were utilised.
According to the details shared by the SRC, each LED screen installation comprises 15 individual screens, with each screen reportedly costing GH¢38,300.
Based on the stated unit cost, the 15 screens would amount to GH¢574,500, which is consistent with the reported expenditure of over GH¢570,000.
The revelation has generated discussions about the SRC's spending priorities and the need for transparency and accountability in the management of students' funds.
