The Minister for Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has called on the Board, Management and staff of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) to build on the company's achievements and pursue greater service excellence and financial sustainability in the next phase of its growth.
The Minister made the call at the launch of activities to mark the company's 20th anniversary celebrations.
Mr Nikpe commended GACL for its contribution to the development and modernisation of airport infrastructure across the country.
He noted that the company's efforts had supported domestic connectivity and promoted tourism, trade and investment over the years.
The Minister also reiterated the Ministry's commitment to supervising GACL to position Ghana as a preferred aviation hub in West Africa.
According to him, achieving this objective would require stronger air connectivity, sustainable infrastructure, digital innovation and the effective integration of airports with other modes of transport.
He further urged the company to strengthen safety, operational efficiency, innovation and passenger experience as it begins a new phase of growth.
