The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) has introduced a platform to provide information and facilitate engagement with party members and constituents ahead of elections scheduled for the coming weekend.
Speaking at a press briefing at Rawlings House, the party’s Deputy Communications Officer, Godwin Ako Gunn, said the initiative was designed to support the smooth administration of the electoral process through the provision of relevant information and logistical arrangements.
He explained that the platform would enable constituents to engage meaningfully with the party and learn more about candidates contesting various positions.
According to Mr. Gunn, some constituents had expressed a desire for parliamentary candidates and national party leaders to visit their constituencies as part of their campaigns.
However, he noted that the limited time before the elections would make it impractical for every candidate to visit all constituencies in person.
The platform, he said, would therefore provide an alternative means for constituents to familiarise themselves with the candidates, assess their qualifications and consider their policy proposals.
Mr. Gunn also announced that the party’s General Secretary would meet members the following day to explain the procedural arrangements for the elections.
He added that the NDC would hold another press conference the same day, inviting party members and media representatives to participate in the briefing.
