MTN Ghana crowns 30th anniversary promotion with three Land Cruisers, cash prize to winners

MTN Ghana has presented three brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado vehicles and a cash prize to winners of its 30th anniversary customer promotion, which rewarded more than 30,000 customers nationwide.

The final presentation ceremony was held at MTN House in Accra on Thursday, October 22, as part of activities marking the telecommunications company's 30 years of operations in Ghana.

The three vehicle winners were Benedicta Obeng Asare from Zone One, Samuel Obeng from Zone Two and Medintey So-Otey from Zone Three, while Bright Twumasi Ankrah received GH¢30,000 as a cash prize from Zone Two.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sandra Oduro Antwi, Senior Manager for Consumer Marketing at MTN Ghana, said the promotion was designed to appreciate customers for their loyalty and support over the past three decades.

“As MTN is 30, we thought that we needed to celebrate with our cherished customers. I mean, they've stood with us for the past 30 years, we've enriched their lives for the past 30 years, and so we deemed it fit to also reward them,” she said.

The promotion ran from June to August 2026 and allowed customers to accumulate points through their regular use of MTN services, including calls, data bundles, mobile money transactions and digital platforms.

Mrs Oduro Antwi said the company partnered with KPMG to ensure fairness and transparency in selecting the winners, given its large customer base.

“We gave out nine Toyota Land Cruiser cars, brand-new for that matter, and then also we rewarded about 30,000 — actually, over 30,000 — customers with different cash prizes,” she stated.

Speaking to ModernGhana News on the sidelines of the ceremony, one of the winners, Ms Obeng Asare said she was excited when she received the call informing her that she had won the vehicle.

“I was very, very, very happy. This is a dream come true,” she said, adding that her family and friends had also rejoiced with her.

She thanked MTN Ghana for making her dream of owning a Toyota Land Cruiser a reality and urged the public to participate in future promotions, saying the anniversary campaign was genuine.

The promotion forms part of MTN Ghana's activities to celebrate its 30th anniversary under the theme, “30 Years of Progress, Powered by You.”
