Kwame Dzokoto Reported Dead at 51 After Collapsing During Radio Discussion

Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has reportedly died after collapsing during a panel discussion on Owass Radio in Tarkwa in the Western Region on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He was 51, according to GBC Ghana Online.

Citi News reported that the entertainer was taken to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The outlet attributed confirmation to a source close to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). GBC separately cited the party’s Western Regional Communication Officer, Kirk Mensah, as confirming the incident.

The reports reviewed did not establish a medical cause of death. GBC said a formal family announcement and funeral arrangements were still pending at the time of its publication.

Dzokoto earned national recognition through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television comedy Efiewura. His comic delivery and familiar screen presence made him a recognisable figure in Ghanaian entertainment. He also appeared in Osumesi.

As host of TV3’s Edziban, he brought local eateries and Ghanaian dishes to television audiences, combining humour with an exploration of the country’s food culture. The programme earned a CIMG Television Programme of the Year award, adding industry recognition to its popular appeal.

Raised largely by his mother in a fishing community in Sekondi, Dzokoto developed his broadcasting career in the Western Region. He worked at Dynamite FM in Tarkwa before joining Skyy Power FM in Takoradi, where he presented Odam Sokoo. He later worked at Hello FM in Kumasi and continued broadcasting in Accra.

His ambitions extended into politics. An NDC member, he contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general election but lost to the New Patriotic Party’s George Mireku Duker. He subsequently sought appointment as the municipality’s chief executive.

Dzokoto also pursued further education. According to Adomonline’s career profile, he held an LLB and graduated in August 2025 with a Master of Science in Defence and International Politics from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College.

His work connected comedy, broadcasting and the celebration of everyday Ghanaian life. For audiences who knew him through Efiewura and Edziban, his enduring contribution was the ability to turn familiar experiences—conversation, community and a shared meal—into memorable entertainment.
