Producer price inflation rose to 4.8% in September 2026, up from 4.4% recorded in August, according to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
The latest figure represents a 0.4 percentage point increase in producer inflation over the month.
The increase was driven largely by developments in the Mining and Quarrying sector, which recorded an inflation rate of 5.5% in September.
Manufacturing also recorded an increase, with producer inflation rising to 4.6%, while Construction edged up to 4.7%.
The Services sector, however, recorded a decline, with inflation falling from 1.8% in August to 1.4% in September.
On a month-on-month basis, producer inflation stood at 1.3% in September, down significantly from the 2.5% recorded in August.
The Mining and Quarrying sector was the biggest contributor to the overall year-on-year producer inflation, accounting for 2.4 percentage points of the 4.8% increase.
Manufacturing contributed 1.6 percentage points, while Electricity and Gas contributed 0.4 percentage points.
The GSS said the September figures are provisional and may be revised as more data becomes available.
The Producer Price Index measures changes in the prices producers receive at the factory gate before goods and services reach consumers.
