African Unity: The scattered vision under white rulership

African Unity: The scattered vision under white rulership

African leaders, young and dynamic (Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali), raise their voices for African Unity, as do African intellectuals like Prof. Lumumba from Kenya. Ghana's President John Dramani Mahama spearheads the decade of Transatlantic Slave Trade reparations while Xenophobia in South Africa destroys any idea of African Unity.

It is remarkable and concerning that African elites get their training in the world of the white man. Political, cultural, economic, social and intellectual African elites send their sons and daughters to study at Cambridge/UK, Oxford/UK, Standford/USA, Yale/USA, Moscow/Russia, Beijing/Universities. The white man introduces the future African elite to his instruments, his values and his vision of the world of tomorrow. On their return to Africa, these trained academics take charge of their native countries with the knowledge of the white man in the back of their minds. As students in the white man's universities, they establish personal bonds with their white peers who eventually take up important positions in their native white countries. Often, personal emotional bonds are stronger than intellectual convictions.

African universities are of various academic levels and output successes. Leadership programmes run are of low standards, lecturing on political instruments developed by whites in respective literature. To develop a common African Unity vision and how to achieve it is not part of their curricula. In their core lectures, they teach the future African elites the same as what they would learn attending the elite universities of the white man mentioned above on a slightly lower level. The education program of the African Union to lecture leadership skills is a tear-shed moment.

Africa lacks a central elite university where ALL future elites sit side by side, share meals and leisure activities besides dormitories and clubs, stimulating discussions about African Unity, the way forward, what each country of Africa should contribute, how to stop interference of the white man, what Africa should contribute to the development of humanity and what will make a difference in world history compared to their white counterparts, to drive history to a better place; eventually be a living raw model for the white man to see and follow the new values and ways going forward. As young elites in one place, they can live African Unity as brothers and sisters, use the privilege of young academics to think out of the box and come up with new unexpected solutions for their countries' and continent's problems. They think, feel, argue, eat and drink together during the vital time shaping their perspective of a professional career in various positions in their nations. The feeling of a great African Alma Ata can be the only foundation of a great African Unity under the African sun and African spirit.

While Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote their „Communist Manifesto“, Adolf Hitler wrote „Mein Kampf“, and Mao Zedong of China wrote his „Mao Bible“, Africa has not produced anything as a common basis to rally around Africans and guide them into a bright future. Dr Kwame Nkrumah has left an important job unfinished.
