Residents of Tosen, a community near Adum and Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region, have been thrown into mourning following an incident in which a man allegedly shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, leaving residents shocked as police work to establish the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
An Okada rider identified as Emmanuel, who witnessed events shortly after the shooting, told Daily Guide that he heard two gunshots while riding past the area.
He said he initially dismissed the sounds, believing they were coming from a ceremony being held in the community.
However, his attention was drawn to the incident moments later when two children reportedly ran out of the house screaming for help, claiming that their father had shot their mother.
According to Emmanuel, the children’s cries prompted him to rush to the police station to report the incident.
The motive behind the alleged shooting remains unclear, with residents struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.
Police officers subsequently visited the scene and conveyed the bodies to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
