The race for the NDC chairmanship in the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency is gathering momentum as Captain (Rtd.) Reuben Solomon Jabari begins implementing his grassroots economic empowerment agenda through the “Fund Me Go” loan initiative.

The first phase of the programme has commenced, with eligible NDC members set to access loans ranging from GH¢2,000 to GH¢20,000 under flexible repayment arrangements.

The first batch of beneficiaries, drawn from the Saviour, Adumasa and Afratia Electoral Areas, began processing their applications on Wednesday with officials from Utrak Savings and Loans.

Successful applicants are expected to receive their selected loan amounts after completing the necessary processes.

Beyond the loan scheme, Captain Jabari has also pledged to facilitate financing for more than 600 Pragia and Aboboyaa vehicles for NDC members across the constituency.

The initiative is intended to create income-generating opportunities for party members and provide them with practical means of improving their livelihoods.

For Captain Jabari, however, the programme goes beyond financial assistance. He says it is an effort to recognise the sacrifices of ordinary NDC members and translate their commitment to the party into tangible economic opportunities.

Speaking to the media, he said his motivation was rooted in the dedication of grassroots members who had consistently worked for the growth and electoral success of the NDC.

He argued that party members should begin to experience direct and meaningful benefits from their years of commitment and service.

Captain Jabari maintained that grassroots empowerment should not be treated merely as a campaign promise but as a core responsibility of party leadership.

He assured members that the initiative would be expanded progressively to other electoral areas within the constituency.

Let the grassroots benefit

Captain Jabari urged beneficiaries to use the financial support responsibly by investing in ventures capable of improving their livelihoods and securing better futures for their families.

He also appealed to delegates to support his bid for the constituency chairmanship, citing his years of service, accessibility, loyalty and commitment to the NDC.

He said his leadership would prioritise the creation of a stronger, more vibrant and economically empowered grassroots, with the broader objective of improving the party’s electoral fortunes ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Beneficiaries praise initiative

The initiative has received positive reactions from some of the beneficiaries.

Faustina Adoma, a beneficiary from the Adumasa Polling Station, described the programme as unprecedented in the political history of Atwima Kwanwoma and the Ashanti Region.

She pledged to use the facility responsibly and expressed appreciation to Captain Jabari.

“God bless Solomon Jabari bountifully. He is a man who cares about the welfare of people and therefore deserves to lead our party in this Constituency.”

Arthur Okyere Junior, NDC Coordinator at Twedie, also welcomed the initiative, describing it as a potential lifeline for members facing economic difficulties.

He said the programme could help address longstanding concerns among grassroots members who had devoted themselves to the party but had not had access to tangible economic opportunities.

He described Captain Jabari’s intervention as something the constituency had “not experienced before.”

‘Fund Me Go’ gains momentum

With the first batch of beneficiaries now undergoing loan processing and plans to extend the programme to other electoral areas, Captain Jabari is positioning the “Fund Me Go” initiative as a central component of his campaign for the Atwima Kwanwoma NDC chairmanship.

The initiative reflects his stated approach to leadership, which places economic empowerment, access to opportunities and direct support for grassroots members at the centre of his campaign.

As the chairmanship contest intensifies, the programme is expected to remain a key feature of Captain Jabari’s campaign as he seeks to win the support of delegates ahead of the constituency elections.
