Henry Nana Boakye and Nana Akomea are expected to take the oath of office today, Tuesday, October 6, following their election as Second and Third Vice Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), respectively.
The two executives were absent from the swearing-in ceremony held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, shortly after the party's National Delegates Congress and National Officers' Elections.
Their absence prevented them from joining the other newly elected national officers who were sworn into office immediately after the elections.
Nana Akomea has, however, disclosed that he and Henry Nana Boakye will be formally sworn in at the first meeting of the newly constituted national executive officers scheduled for Tuesday.
Speaking to JoyNews, Nana Akomea said arrangements had been made for the two to take their oaths during the meeting.
“We have our first meeting on Tuesday, I think. Our first meeting as new executives and I am sure I will get myself sworn in.”
The ceremony is expected to formally complete the assumption of office by the two executives following their election at the party's national delegates congress.
The NPP held its National Delegates Congress and National Officers' Elections on October 3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where delegates from across the country elected a new set of national officers.
Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, emerged as Second Vice Chairman, while Nana Akomea was elected Third Vice Chairman.
Kwadwo Fosu Boadu won the First Vice Chairman position after defeating Nana Akomea and Henry Nana Boakye in the contest.
The newly elected officers are expected to take charge of the party's national administration as the NPP prepares for its next phase of political activities.
