Rescue Missions and Orphanage LBG has extended its school uniform initiative, "Sewing New Uniforms, Stitching a Brighter Future", to St. Andrews Catholic Boys School at Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region, with the donation of seven newly sewn uniforms to pupils in need.

The intervention followed a phone call by Mrs. Jennifer Adomanko, a teacher at the school, to the Founder and Executive Director of the NGO after she learned about the project through a friend who shared it on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Upon receiving the request, the NGO swiftly responded by engaging a tailor to take the pupils' measurements, purchasing uniform materials and ensuring the uniforms were neatly stitched for the seven beneficiaries.

On 28th September 2026, a three-member team from Rescue Missions embarked on a nine-hour journey from Ho in the Volta Region to Akim Swedru to personally deliver the uniforms to the school.

The team comprised Dr. Worlanyo Kekesi, Paediatrician and Founder of Rescue Missions; Mr. Felix Mensah, a Nurse and Head of Media and Publicity; and Rev. Elvis Elvison, a member of the Prayer Department, and they were warmly received by Mrs. Adomanko.

At the school, the team met with the headmaster, Mr. Agyiri Francis, and other teachers, where after exchanging pleasantries, the headmaster outlined some pressing challenges facing the school, including the lack of stationery and a lawn mower for maintaining the school compound.

The team later interacted with the pupils, during which Dr. Kekesi held an engaging session on personal hygiene, encouraging the children to adopt healthy habits and take pride in their personal wellbeing.

The highlight of the outreach was the formal presentation of the newly stitched uniforms to the seven beneficiaries, an emotional moment captured through photographs and brief interviews with the pupils and school representatives.

The headmaster and staff expressed profound gratitude to Rescue Missions for the support, while the NGO thanked the school leadership for the warm reception and the opportunity to contribute to the dignity and confidence of the children.

According to the organization, the Akim Swedru donation is part of a larger mission that has seen over 500 new school uniforms distributed to children in underserved communities within six months since the project was launched.

Rescue Missions emphasized that for them, distance is not a barrier, noting that a torn uniform is more than a clothing problem as it affects a child's self-esteem, school attendance, participation and often reflects the socioeconomic challenges of the family, with a goal to sew and distribute between 1,000 and 10,000 uniforms.

The NGO expressed sincere appreciation to its sponsors, particularly Mrs. Akorfa Kholi and her children, and Dr. Mrs. Addo, as well as to all team members whose dedication and hard work continue to sustain the initiative, calling on individuals, families, corporate organizations and partners to support the drive to help more children go to school with dignity, confidence and hope.
