Circle phone dealer murder: Suspect allegedly sold victim’s iPhone 12 for GH¢100 – Police 

The Ghana Police Service says a suspect arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere sold the victim’s iPhone 12 for GH¢100.

The suspect, Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, is among three persons arrested following investigations into the death of Kyere, who was reported missing on September 22.

The other suspects are Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai, who were arrested by the Missing Persons Unit in connection with the case.

“The Police have also retrieved the victim's iPhone 12, which suspect Philip Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100.00," the police said in a statement issued on Monday, September 28.

According to the police, the buyer, identified as Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained for allegedly dishonestly receiving the phone.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Kyere left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19 in his Honda Civic vehicle but did not return.

The police said investigations established that Sarah Osei Adams allegedly lured him to Tefe’s residence at Teshie Agbleza.

“Both suspects later confessed to their involvement and indicated that suspect Philip Tefe attacked the victim during a confrontation and hit him with a metallic object, causing him to sustain injuries," the statement noted.

The police said Kyere was subsequently moved to another room, where he was left unattended and later died.

Investigations further established that his body was conveyed in a Kia Morning vehicle to a location near the motorway on September 20, where it was dumped in a bush and set ablaze.

The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21.

Kyere’s biological mother and an uncle later identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Obodai, who is being investigated in connection with the disposal of the body.

His father’s Kia Morning vehicle, which the police believe was used to convey the body, has also been impounded.
