Ho MCE, MP pledge support for Hoe development projects as Togbe Sesinu VI is installed

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ho, Hon. Stephen Adom, and the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, have pledged the commitment of the Assembly and the MP's office to accelerate development in Hoe following the installation of its new Paramount Chief.

The pledges were made during the coronation and outdooring of Togbe Sesinu VI as the Paramount Chief of the Hoe Traditional Area and President of the Hoe Traditional Council, held at Hoe on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Speaking in an interview at the durbar grounds, Hon. Stephen Adom commended the people of Hoe for the peaceful and united manner in which the installation was conducted.

"As we come to witness the installation of Togbega Sesinu VI, we are happy that everything is going on peacefully as far as the people of Hoe are concerned. In fact, the unity we see among them is unparalleled," he stated.

The MCE explained that chieftaincy installations often create tensions for local authorities, and therefore Hoe's peaceful process was worthy of support and emulation.

"Because it is always a headache for us if you want to install chiefs and then this faction says this, other factions come with a lot of fight. So this one that is peaceful, we are happy and we salute the people of Hoe," he added.

In recognition of that unity, Hon. Adom announced that the Ho Municipal Assembly would support the community's development agenda, starting with a key health infrastructure project.

"For that matter, we as an assembly, we are going to support them by building the nurses' quarters that they have requested. Every community that is united, it is our happiness that they are united, for that matter we need to bring development to them," he pledged.

He further expressed confidence in the new Paramount Chief, noting that his background as a lawyer would be an asset to traditional governance and development.

"I am happy that Togbega himself is a lawyer and for that matter he knows much about the laws and will do good to the people of Hoe," Hon. Adom said.

The MCE also called on residents to sustain the prevailing peace, support the new traditional leadership, and take advantage of development opportunities in the area, especially through productive use of land.

"The youth should come together and make productive use of the available land, particularly through farming and other economic activities that could create opportunities for them," he advised.

On his part, the Member of Parliament for Ho Central, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, pledged to provide materials for the construction of a teachers' bungalow to improve teaching and learning in the community.

He explained that decent accommodation for teachers was critical, as learning time is often affected when teachers have to travel long distances to school.

Hon. Kpotosu therefore assured the community that he would shoulder the cost of materials for the project, while appealing to residents to provide communal labour and skilled craftsmanship.

"I am prepared to take the responsibility of providing the construction materials off the shoulders of the community. I call on you to provide labour for the project, particularly through the support of master craftsmen and other skilled workers in the community," he said.

The MP also pledged support for the construction of a nurses' bungalow, stating, "I've seen something in the brochure that you wish to build nurses' bungalow and I want to promise you all that, before next year June, we'll complete the nurses' bungalow."

He noted that providing accommodation for nurses would help attract and retain health professionals and improve healthcare delivery in Hoe.

To support the organization of the coronation ceremony, Hon. Kpotosu donated GH¢10,000 and used the occasion to advise the youth to stay away from marijuana and other substance abuse, urging them to protect their future by making responsible choices.

The paramount chief and the community have, however, cut the sod for the commencement of the projects.
