The President of Regentropfen University College (RUC), Rev. Dr. Moses Asaah Awinongya, has rejected claims circulating about the accreditation status of some health-related programmes offered by the institution, warning that persons responsible for spreading false information could face legal action.

Speaking on Daybreak Upper East on A1 Radio in Bolgatanga, Rev. Dr. Awinongya described the allegations as false and urged members of the public to seek accurate information about the institution and its programmes from the appropriate regulatory authorities rather than relying on rumours.

He said the spread of misinformation could undermine public confidence in institutions working to expand access to tertiary education and skills development in the Upper East Region.

The university president had earlier issued a strong warning on RECAS 92.1 FM, the campus radio station of Regentropfen University College, threatening legal action against individuals who circulate what he considers false information about the institution.

Rev. Dr. Awinongya said people should exercise caution when making claims about the university, particularly issues concerning the accreditation and recognition of its programmes.

Regentropfen University College, located at Kansoe in the Bongo District, has expanded its academic offerings in recent years. The institution currently runs 11 accredited programmes across areas including Business, Computer Science, Education, Health and Agriculture. The university also announced plans to establish a medical school within the next five to 10 years.

The institution has also been developing infrastructure to support its health-related training. In March 2026, RUC cut sod for the construction of a modern health centre at Namoo, which the institution said would serve as a training hub for nursing students while providing healthcare services to communities in the area.

Rev. Dr. Awinongya therefore encouraged prospective students, parents and other stakeholders to verify information concerning programmes directly from the relevant regulatory authorities.
