The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has announced that its DVLAverify App is now available on the Apple App Store for iPhone users.
The development forms part of the Authority’s efforts to make biometric identity verification for vehicle registration more convenient and accessible to applicants.
The DVLA has also introduced a web-based verification platform for applicants who do not have access to a compatible smartphone.
“The Authority is pleased to announce that the DVLAverify App is officially live and available for download on the Apple App Store for iPhone (iOS) users,” the DVLA said in a statement issued on Wednesday, September 23.
“Applicants may complete their identity verification directly through any web browser on a compatible computer with a working webcam,” the statement added.
The Authority said the new options are intended to ensure uninterrupted service delivery and also provide greater convenience to prospective vehicle owners and vehicle registration applicants.
The DVLA further encouraged applicants who require assistance to contact its Customer Support Centre or visit the nearest DVLA office for enquiries and technical support.
