“No major corruption scandal under NDC” — Feed Ghana Deputy Coordinator praises Mahama

The Deputy Coordinator of the Feed Ghana Programme in charge of Institutional Farming, Gordon Asubonteng, has commended the John Dramani Mahama administration for what he described as nearly two years of “good and clean governance.”

Mr Asubonteng said the absence of any major corruption scandal under the administration was an indication of its commitment to responsible governance.

He also pointed to what he described as improvements in the performance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), citing recent profit-margin reports published by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA).

According to him, the return to profitability of some SOEs that previously operated at losses was a positive development and suggested improvements in the management of the economy.

Mr Asubonteng consequently called on Ghanaians to continue supporting the Mahama administration, saying its performance so far demonstrated a commitment to responsible leadership.

He nevertheless admitted that the government still had more work to do, noting that some sectors had yet to record significant progress.

“As human institutions, it is impossible for everything to be perfect,” he said.

He therefore encouraged Ghanaians to continue offering constructive criticism to help the President and his appointees identify areas that require attention.

Such feedback, he said, would allow the government to improve its performance and take further steps towards advancing national development.

Mr Asubonteng maintained that the progress recorded so far, particularly in what he described as clean governance and the improved financial fortunes of some SOEs, provided reason to have confidence in the direction of the administration.
