Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim declares NPP Parliamentary ambition in Tamale South, pledges GH¢5,000 monthly support

An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tamale South Constituency, Dr. Mohammed Mohammed Ibrahim, has officially declared his intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim made the declaration on Monday, September 21, 2026, when he paid a courtesy visit to the newly elected NPP Tamale South Constituency Executives.

During the visit, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim congratulated the executives on their election and expressed his commitment to working with them to strengthen the party’s structures and activities at the constituency level.

He formally informed the executives of his decision to contest the parliamentary primaries, with the aim of representing the NPP in the Tamale South Constituency.

As part of his visit, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim donated chairs and an undisclosed amount of money to support the executives in the administration and coordination of constituency activities. He also pledged to provide monthly financial support of GH¢5,000 to assist with social events and other related activities.

Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim further promised to increase the monthly support if he is elected as the NPP’s parliamentary candidate for the constituency.

Receiving the aspiring candidate on behalf of the constituency executives, the Tamale South NPP Constituency Chairman, Chief Ziblila Fuseini Dabokpa Naa, welcomed him and expressed appreciation for his support.

The Constituency Chairman disclosed that Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim was the first aspiring parliamentary candidate to officially approach the executive committee and communicate his intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primaries.

He, however, urged Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim and his campaign team to conduct their campaign without hate speech, personal attacks or denigration of other aspirants.

Chief Ziblila Fuseini Dabokpa Naa called for a peaceful and issue-based campaign, stressing the importance of preserving unity within the NPP in the Tamale South Constituency.
