Julius Debrah Invokes Nkrumah's Vision, Urges Public Officers to Treat Power as a Trust

Chief of Staff Dr. Julius Debrah has delivered a powerful Founder’s Day message centred on the enduring vision of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, urging today’s public officials to see leadership as a sacred responsibility to the people.

In a message shared on his official Facebook page, Dr. Debrah paid tribute to Nkrumah’s courage, vision and unwavering belief in African self-determination, which he said helped turn the dream of freedom into an independent Ghana.

The Chief of Staff said Nkrumah did not merely dream of political independence but envisioned a Ghana that would educate its people, industrialise its economy and stand confidently among nations.

He also highlighted Nkrumah’s belief that Ghana’s progress was inseparable from the unity and advancement of Africa.

But beyond the historical tribute, Dr. Debrah used the occasion to deliver a strong message to those entrusted with public office.

“Authority is a trust and the sole purpose of public service is to serve the people.”
He said Nkrumah’s legacy challenges the present generation to look beyond today and build a country capable of meeting the aspirations of generations yet unborn.

According to Dr. Debrah, Nkrumah gave a young Ghana the confidence to believe in its future, stressing the need for today’s generation to summon the courage to carry that confidence forward.

His message ended with a warm Founder’s Day greeting to Ghanaians, as he called for renewed commitment to the ideals of national development, public service and African advancement.
