Akatsi South: 55 aspirants file for executive elections

The Akatsi South Constituency Election Directorate has announced the close of nominations for its upcoming constituency executive elections, with 55 aspirants picking nomination forms to contest various positions as part of the party’s ongoing reorganisation process.

According to a statement signed by the Constituency Election Director, Mr. Obed Agbozo, the nominations covered 18 executive and representative positions, ranging from Chairman to the Eight Other Members category.

The chairmanship race will be a straight contest between Anthony Solo Adotevi and Anthony Kojo Owusu, while the vice-chairman position has attracted three aspirants: Mensah Prince, Agbavor Lord Percivals and Ackuaku Edem.

For the secretary position, Francis Dotsey Bedzo will face Agordzetor Daniel, while Thomas Yao Atidepe, Atsu Haggai Ganyo and Nasser Edem are contesting for deputy secretary.

The organiser position has three contenders: Sulemana Seidu, Isaac Kofi Attivor and Agbelorbu Mensah Samuel. The deputy organiser position will also be contested by Kudoto Victus, Ahiatsi Wisdom and Hagble Stephen Blewunyo.

Gidi Daniel is the sole aspirant for the treasurer position, while Azumah Vincent and Akpabli Wisdom are contesting for deputy treasurer.

The communication officer position will be contested by Avege Edem Unity and Tagbor Moses, while Hon. Gbede Japhet Festus and Jonathan Dorkenoo are vying for deputy communication officer.

Ackuaku Kwadzo Selasi is the sole nominee for youth organiser, with Ativor Selorm Bestine and Kportufe Victus contesting for deputy youth organiser. Nudzor Moses Prince, Senyaglo Eric Kwame and Aho Genuine Mawufeasi are in the race for other youth representative.

On the women’s front, Agozie Patience and Kaledzi Rita Lebene will contest for women organiser, while Klutsey Catherine and Adrakey Sarrah Nayram are contesting for the deputy position.

The Zongo Caucus coordinator position will be contested by Kludzi Richard Godsway and Bubey Omaru.

The largest category, Other Members, has attracted 20 aspirants competing for 8 available slots.

They are Dey John Coffie, Adamah Salome, Gbologah Christopher, Dorkenoo Reuben, Agbobli Felix Atsu, Sorkpa Yesutor, Gokah Prince Justice, Tameklo Elikplim, Dzakpasu Beauty, Amekuedi John, Agbo Jerry Etsey Yaw, Attivor Makafui, Dorvlo Benedicta, Dzebu Doe, Hude Nathan, Biedo Kennedy, Agudzemega Hillary Dogbeda, Gadasu Diana, Ativor Louis Mensah and Davor Stanley Coffie.

The Election Directorate has assured all aspirants and party faithful of a free, fair and transparent process as the constituency prepares for the elections.
