Ejura-Sekyedumase MP supports over 500 SHS freshers with educational items

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura-Sekyedumase, Mr Mohammed Bawah Braimah, has presented educational items to more than 500 students who excelled in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The presentation, held on Tuesday at the Ejura Lorry Station, formed part of an initiative dubbed “The MP’s Special Award for 2026 Outstanding BECE Students.” It seeks to recognise academic excellence, motivate students to pursue higher education, and inspire other young people to strive for academic success.

Each beneficiary received an educational support package comprising a mattress, student trunk, pillow, bucket, books and other learning materials to assist them in Senior High School (SHS).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Bawah commended the students for their dedication and hard work, and encouraged them to remain focused as they embark on the next stage of their academic journey.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting youth development in the constituency, stressing that investment in education was an investment in the future development of the constituency and the nation.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Rafiu Adam Seidu, commended the MP for the initiative, saying it would help ease the financial burden on parents and guardians while motivating other students to work harder.

He pledged the Assembly’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting education and youth development in the municipality.

The Chairman for the occasion, Nana Yeboah Kodie, who represented the Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie II, also commended the MP for his investment in education.

He urged the MP to continue with such initiatives and assured him of the support of the traditional authorities in promoting development in the municipality.

The event was attended by beneficiaries, parents and guardians, school authorities, education officials, traditional and religious leaders, Assembly members, heads of departments and other stakeholders.
