Navrongo: MCE hands over sanitary facility to traders at temporary new market

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Faustina Abulu, has handed over a newly constructed urinal and toilet facility to traders at the Temporary New Market located at COS Park.

The facility, constructed by the Municipal Assembly, is expected to provide an interim sanitation solution for traders and other users of the temporary market while improving hygiene and convenience within the trading environment.

At a brief handover ceremony, Hon. Faustina Abulu, accompanied by members of her team, formally presented the facility to the traders and urged them to take ownership of it.

She appealed to traders and other users to keep the facility clean, ensure its proper maintenance and use it responsibly to prolong its lifespan.

The MCE stressed that maintaining a clean trading environment requires the collective commitment of both the Assembly and the beneficiaries.

She assured traders of the Assembly’s continued support and commitment to improving their welfare and working conditions within the Municipality.

The intervention forms part of efforts to address sanitation challenges associated with the temporary market and provide traders with basic facilities that support healthier and more convenient working conditions.

Traders are expected to play a key role in maintaining the facility and ensuring that it continues to serve its intended purpose.
