Renowned Wa-based lawyer and development activist Sylvester Jebuni has donated educational materials worth more than GH¢8,000 to brilliant but needy orphans in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The donation, made on Thursday, September 10, 2026, is intended to support the beneficiaries as they transition to senior high school after successfully completing their junior high school education.
The items included chop boxes, books, school bags, buckets, pens and other educational supplies.
Mr Jebuni said his decision to support the students was influenced by the assistance he personally received in the past, which he said played an important role in helping him reach his current position.
He urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously and remain responsible, stressing that their conduct and commitment to learning would help prepare them for future leadership roles.
The lawyer also dismissed suggestions that his charitable activities were intended to secure political favours in the future. He explained that the gesture formed part of a continuing commitment to supporting people in need and was not his first intervention.
Mr Jebuni has practised law in Wa and is also known for his involvement in development activities. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked as a teacher in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District for close to a decade.
The educational materials were presented to the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Education Directorate and received by the Deputy Director of Supervision, Mr Sadat Naazie, on behalf of the District Director.
The items were subsequently distributed to the beneficiaries, with those who were absent represented by their guardians.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Mr Jebuni for what they described as his continued support towards their education.
