Two suspects arrested over alleged plot to murder Susu collector at Botwe

The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two men suspected of being involved in an alleged plot to assassinate a woman who works as a Susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.

The suspects, identified by the Accra Regional Head of Public Affairs, Chief/Supt. Juliana Obeng, are Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey.

They were arrested on September 4, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation by the Police at Botwe Old Town.

According to the Ghana Police Service, officers had laid an ambush at the location and intercepted the suspects while they were allegedly preparing to carry out the planned attack.

Preliminary investigations have established that Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and became involved in the alleged assassination plot after she repeatedly demanded repayment.

Police said Altine subsequently allegedly conspired with Adejetey to arrange the killing of Dankwa.

The two suspects were put before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026, but their pleas were not taken.

The court subsequently remanded them into Police custody, with the case adjourned to September 22, 2026, for their next appearance.

The Police said investigations are continuing and further information would be made available as the case progresses.
