Gomoa West MP, DCE unveil ultramodern KG blocks for Simbrofo, Odumase–Antseadze

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, together with the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Mohammed Kassim, and the Gomoa West District Director of the Ghana Education Service, Mr. Kwame Yeboah, on Tuesday commissioned two ultramodern 2‑unit KG blocks with full facilities for the Gomoa Simbrofo and Gomoa Odumase/Antseadze Basic Schools.

They also handed over a refurbished KG block at Gomoa Brofo. The gesture is aimed at providing a conducive environment for early childhood learning and development.

Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah donated tables, chairs, and teaching and learning materials to enhance effective teaching and learning. He urged teachers and community members to take good care of the items.

Addressing a durbar organized by Nananom in the beneficiary communities, Hon. Gyan Mensah stated that the government, led by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, is committed to ensuring quality education at all levels and providing access for every child of school‑going age.

The MP noted that Gomoa West continues to benefit significantly from the NDC government through projects such as CHPS compounds, classroom blocks, roads, and expansion of electricity supply to boost both small‑ and large‑scale industries.

“We will continue to appreciate President John Dramani Mahama for his commitment to ensuring human and infrastructural development in the Gomoa West Constituency. There are over 200 basic schools in Gomoa West, and the government is poised to create an enabling environment to improve the academic standards of education. What I pray for is for communities to play their supplementary role so government can achieve its goal of securing a better future for generations to come. I want to caution against neglecting minor defects in our classroom blocks, which can be addressed early before they become major challenges,” Hon. Gyan Mensah stressed.

Hon. Richard Gyan Mensah, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Energy, appealed to parents to endeavour to provide the necessary items for their children to motivate them to attend school regularly and become what they aspire to be for their families and society.

The DCE for Gomoa West, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, reiterated the call for regular maintenance of the facilities to ensure they last longer than expected.

He stated that the 2‑unit classroom blocks are fully furnished with washrooms, toiletries, an office, stores, and electricity supply.

The Queen Mother of Gomoa Simbrofo, Nana Eku Sika, while thanking President Mahama, the NDC government, and the MP for Gomoa West for providing the beautiful edifice, appealed for potable drinking water for the community.
