Mahama will not tolerate conduct that undermines gov't — Callistus Mahama to appointees 

Secretary to President John Dramani Mahama, Dr Callistus Mahama, has urged government appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence and humility.

His call comes amid recent ministerial reshuffles that have seen some ministers reassigned to different portfolios, while others have been moved to different ministries.

President Mahama on Wednesday, September 2, announced the dissolution of the boards of nine state-owned institutions with immediate effect.

In a notice to ministers and political appointees on the same day, Dr Callistus Mahama said the President remains committed to maintaining discipline, accountability and effective leadership across all sectors of government.

“The President expects all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chief Executives, Board members and other political appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence, humility and respect for established administrative procedures," the notice read in part.

He said the recent ministerial changes, dissolution of selected boards and the impending reshuffle of chief executives are intended to strengthen institutional leadership and improve coordination across government.

Dr Callistus Mahama also cautioned that conduct that undermines governmental cohesion, institutional authority or the effective implementation of government policies would not be tolerated.

He reminded appointees that public office is a privilege and an opportunity to serve the Ghanaian people, stressing that their performance would continue to be assessed.

“Performance across all sectors will continue to be assessed, and the President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his Administration," he stated.
